Driving Directions
Mission: Wolf is open every day of the year!
From Westcliffe (coming from the north): Follow Highway 69 south 11.5 miles and turn left on County Road 305, a dirt road called "Centennial Ranch Road" on some maps. Drive 5 miles to a 4-way intersection and take a right (going straight would take you to a private farm). Follow the road another 5 miles to "T" intersection and turn right on Gardner Road (County Road 634). Follow Gardner Road south for 2 miles and turn left just before the Blue Spring cattle guard. Follow the M:W driveway 1.5 miles along a fence line and across the field, all the way up the hill to the sanctuary.
Alternate route from Westcliffe: Follow highway 69 south 28 miles and turn left on Gardner Road. Follow directions below.
From Gardner (coming from the south): Follow Highway 69 west from Gardner for 2 miles, and turn right on Gardner Road (County Road 634, a dirt road.) Follow Gardner Road for 13.5 miles to the Blue Spring State Land Trust sign and turn right after the catttleguard. Follow the M:W driveway 1.5 miles along a fence line and across the field, all the way up the hill to the sanctuary.
From Bishop's Castle on Hwy 165: Drive one mile northwest on Hwy 165 and turn left at Ophir Creek Campground. Follow Ophir Creek Road south for 16 miles turn left at the M:W driveway, just before the Blue Spring cattleguard. Drive 1.5 miles along a fence and all the way up the hill to the sanctuary. Please note that this route may be closed or require a 4WD vehicle in winter.
From Taos, NM or Great Sand Dunes via Hwy 160 (coming from the southwest/west): From Fort Garland, CO, take Hwy 160 east for 18.5 miles. Turn left onto Pass Creek Road. Drive nine miles and turn right on CR 570 at a T intersection. Drive 5 miles to Hwy 69 and turn left. Follow the directions above from Gardner. Please note that this route may be closed or require a 4WD vehicle in winter. If in doubt, take Hwy 160 to Walsenburg, then Hwy 69 to Gardner.
